Our Story Takes Flight
About
Nichole Feinauer has spent over 25 years in the birth world, in one capacity or another. She was a birth doula, a Lamaze childbirth educator, taught at a crisis pregnancy center, and started a birth network in Georgia that supported families and birth professionals for 18 years. Nichole is now a Certified Professional Midwife that owns and operates a thriving birth center and home birth practice in Central Virginia.
Through all of the different eras of birth work, one thing has remained a constant; her focus on education for the public and birth workers, as well as her drive to build community. Hatched + Flown is her latest iteration of that continued dedication to education and community building.

Our Vision
Hatched + Flown was created to help people grow the knowledge, skills, and confidence to take flight in birth work. We meet you at the beginning of your journey into birth work or to support you in becoming whichever type of birth worker best fits you and your personal philosophy. Our goal is to meet you where you are and then help you grow in your competence and confidence.
Professional Workshops and Trainings
We host a variety of workshops and trainings for those just beginning their career in birth work and for seasoned professionals. Birth assistant workshops, doula trainings, CPR, neonatal resuscitation, suturing class, and an IV workshop are just some of the educational opportunities we have hosted.
Networking Events
Building community takes time and effort, but is a worthwhile investment of our time and energy. Having a strong referral network benefits not only the birth professional, but their clients and community. We organize networking events that provide opportunity to get to know others and support local business.
Retreats
Birth professionals give and give and GIVE to others. Our retreats focus on the needs of those that give so much to others. A time to rest, relax, and recover so that we can continue to serve families.
Parent Classes
Educating and informing parents is one of our passions. We offer a variety of classes for parents choosing to give birth in all settings. Keep an eye on our events calendar for future offerings.
